A new under track railway crossing is set to be built in Feniton starting the week beginning 19 September, as the third phase of the East Devon District Council’s Feniton Flood Alleviation Scheme.

The under track railway crossing forms part of the effort to redirect flood water from the north of the village to be deposited back into the stream in the south, protecting Feniton homes from flood damage. It will also pave the way for phase four of the scheme to commence in 2023.

The construction of the track is a relief for Feniton residents, and will be beneficial as Devon adapts to a changing climate and increased flood risks.
