From Sunday 8th May, residents in Torbay and Brixham will be able to dispose of their green waste correctly at designated collection points.

Throughout May there will be two further opportunities for residents to take their green waste to Torquay Town Hall car park. A monthly service will resume from June onward in Brixham and Torbay.

In landfill, green waste decomposes anaerobically, releasing methane and other harmful greenhouse gasses. If collected and disposed of correctly, however, green waste can be successfully recycled, as it is fully biodegradable, and can be used as fertiliser.

This is a fantastic opportunity for Torbay to reduce their greenhouse gas emissions from biodegradable waste.
